FG Launches NATEP Youth Employment Programme
To increase youth employment in Nigeria, the Federal Government of Nigeria has started a program called NATEP Youth Employment Programme. The National Talent Export Programme, sometimes known as NATEP, is a program designed to increase Nigeria’s foreign exchange profits. On the fringes of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), President Bola Tinubu, who was represented by Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, launched the program over the weekend.
What NATEP Is About
This new project aims to emulate India, Bangladesh, Mexico, and the Philippines by positioning Nigeria as an export powerhouse for talents outsourcing in Africa. In New York, United States of America, at the Microsoft Office, the programme was unveiled.
The Ministers of Industry, Trade, and Investment were joined at the event by Dr.Bosun Tijani, her colleague from the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, as well as a bunch of dignitaries from multilateral organizations and major international tech companies.
The National Talent Export Programme is a crucial national effort that will act as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for positioning Nigeria as a major worldwide hub for service exports, talent sourcing, and talent exports, Dr.Uzoka-Anite said in her welcome speech on behalf of President Tinubu.
The Minister claims that NATEP would act as a specialized organization to solve the special requirements and difficulties encountered by the talent and service export business.

A major focus of the program will be supporting innovation, increasing competitiveness, and promoting long-term development through trade in services.
The minister further mentioned that President Tinubu’s vision for employment creation includes NATEP as a component of the approach.
This initiative will accomplish three things for our nation: first, it will generate millions of jobs for our youth over the next five years and beyond; additionally it will bring in foreign exchange that our economic system needs through remittance from talents that will be sent abroad and those that are going to reside in Nigeria and working via the internet for organizations outside of Nigeria.
The Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, SaadiaZahidi, stated in her goodwill message that NATEP is a prompt initiative that tackles the crucial areas of skills and jobs for Nigeria and the world, and that the WEF looks at potentially partnering with Nigeria on the programme.
