How To Apply For Nigerian Navy DSSC Recruitment

The Nigerian Navy is a branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces. With several thousand personnel, including Coast Guard members, it is one of the largest navies on the African continent. Applications can be submitted from adequately qualified Nigerians for the Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29 Special Enlistment.

Available Departments and Entry Requirements

Medical

The following medical specialties are offered with the necessary entry requirements:

Medical Officer/Dental Surgeon

  • MBBS, MBBCh, or BDS for physicians and dentists, respectively
  • Each must have a valid license to practice medicine and be completely registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

Pharmacy

  • Possess a valid practice license, a B.Pharm. or Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and complete registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria.

Medical Laboratory Science

  • BMLS and hold a valid practicing license in addition to being properly registered with the Medical Laboratory Scientist Council of Nigeria.

Radiographer

  • A radiography bachelor’s degree and a valid license to practice.

Physiotherapy

  • Possess Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation, sometimes known as B. Physiotherapy
  • Must have a valid professional license and be registered with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Registration Board of Nigeria (MRTB).

Optometry

  • Must possess a valid practicing license
  • Be a fully registered optometrist and dispensing optician with the Optical Council of Nigeria.

Medical records and health information management

  • A valid practicing license and a BSc or HND are prerequisites

Clinical psychology

  • Applied psychology and clinical psychology bachelor’s degree, with active license to practice.

Biomedical Engineer

  • Currently licensed to practice with a BSc or HND in Biomedical Engineering

Public Health Officer

  • A BSc/HND in Community Health Information and Education or Environmental Health. must have a valid practicing license and be completely registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registrations Council of Nigeria (EHORCON).

Midwifery and General Nursing

  • Possess B.NSC. RN and RM with a valid license to practice.

An extra benefit will be a post-basic qualification in any of the following fields:

  • A nurse for accidents and emergencies
  • Nurse in Intensive Care Unit
  • Nurse for Perioperative Care
  • A nurse specializing in eye care
  • Renal/Dialysis Nurse.

Nutritionist/Social Welfare Officer

  • BSc, license to practice from appropriate regulatory organizations, registered member of professional board.

Occupational Therapists

  • Must have a BSc, a practicing license from the appropriate regulatory body, and professional board registration.

Engineering

B.Sc. or B. Eng. degrees in the following disciplines:

  • Control Engineering
  • Ship and Naval Architecture
  • Mechanical Marine Engineering
  • Electrical Marine Engineering
  • Automation and Robotics.

It will be advantageous to be a member of the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

Information and Communication Technology

  • A B.Sc., B.Tech, or B.Eng. in computer engineering or science
  • Candidates with relevant experience in networking and network administration will be given priority
  • Development of software and programming
  • Database and server administration
  • Security via Cyberspace

Digital Investigation and Computer Forensics

  • Artificial intelligence and robotics
  • Having certification in certain disciplines will be beneficial

Legal Assistance

  • Have a BL and LLB. An extra benefit is an LLM in Forensic, International, or Maritime Law.
