It is no longer news that the Npower program is now under the new management of Skill Up Nigeria Renewed Hope. It has been announced that 5 million young people will be recruited for the reorganized Npower program.
The former Buhari administration launched the Npower program in 2016 to give Nigerian youths employability and entrepreneurial abilities. The Npower initiative has already benefited more than 1 million people.
However, due to the program’s poor management, the Npower initiative has drawn criticism. Moreover, the program’s beneficiaries receive no compensation.
The Npower program is being restructured to regain the program’s lost luster now that President Tinubu’s administration has restored faith in the initiative to create jobs. The Npower program is managed by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The program will be expanded to include recipients between the ages of 18 and 40 (the previous age restriction was 35) as a result of the restructuring and transformation. For the graduate and non-graduate stream, they aim to reach 5 million beneficiaries in 5 years at a rate of 1 million per year.
According to HM Dr. Betta Edu, the N-power and other organizations were founded to create jobs, offer assistance, and prevent suffering for Nigerians.
The Npower Renewed Hope Skills Up Nigeria Program may begin accepting new applicants in January 2024.
